RSS / Atom Feeds
What the RSS is
RSS (”Really Simple Syndication“) is a family of formats used to publish frequently updated content. An RSS / Atom document is called a “feed” or “channel” and contains short description of the latest added article.
RSS / Atom feed can be read via software called a “RSS / News reader or aggregator”. In most cases you don’t have to install separate software because such feeds can be read by most popular software you are already using. Below is a list of few most popular client software supporting RSS / Atom formats:
Browsers
- Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (Windows XP or Windows Vista)
- Mozilla Firefox (operating system independent)
- Opera (operating system independent)
Mail clients
- Mozilla Thunderbird (cross-platform)
- Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Windows XP or Windows Vista)
